Who We Are

Mission-oriented. Discreet by design.

Sentinel Global Affairs & Strategy (SGAS) is an independent advisory firm specialising in geopolitics, defence and public policy. We serve governments, armed forces, security institutions and strategic industries that operate in high-risk political and security environments.

Our Mission

To help public authorities and strategic actors anticipate threats, design robust strategies and build resilient institutions — from Europe to the Indo-Pacific.

Origins

Why an independent house, and why now.

Sentinel was formed by senior practitioners who, after years inside ministries, armed forces and international institutions, concluded that the most consequential decisions of the coming decade would not be served by larger consultancies, public commentary or partisan platforms — but by a small, deliberately quiet practice that answers only to its principals. The firm publishes nothing, advertises nothing, and grows only when a mandate justifies it.

Our Approach

Four ways we work alongside our clients.

/01

Integrated

We combine geopolitical, military, economic and technological perspectives.

/02

Evidence-based

Rigorous research, open-source intelligence and structured analysis.

/03

Co-creative

We work closely with client teams to co-design implementable solutions.

/04

Scenario-driven

We use scenarios, simulations and wargaming to stress-test plans.

What we don't do

Boundaries we set, by design.

A short list of activities we decline — useful for principals deciding whether Sentinel is the right house.

  • ×

We do not publish — no papers, op-eds, podcasts or named commentary.

  • ×

We do not lobby. We do not represent clients before governments or regulators.

  • ×

We do not work on success fees, contingent fees or revenue-shared mandates.

  • ×

We do not pursue media visibility. The firm name does not appear in client materials.

  • ×

We do not retain confidential material beyond what the mandate requires.

Our Values

Principles that govern every engagement.

01

Independence

Non-partisan; we maintain analytical independence.

02

Confidentiality

Sensitive engagements are treated with strict discretion.

03

Professionalism

High standards of quality, integrity and accountability.

04

Public service ethos

We understand the responsibilities of public office and defence institutions.
